Members of Company 6419 of the Civilian Conservation Corps at Camp Doty, ca. 1937
Doty is a town on the Chehalis River nineteen miles west of Chehalis in west central Lewis County. Once it was a busy sawmill town, but has been inactive since the largest sawmill moved out in 1929. It was named for Chauncey Albert Doty, owner of Doty Lumber & Shingle Company, who built a sawmill and shingle mill in the late 1890s.
