- Description
Pvt. Robert A. Cheatham served in Co. C, 1st Tenn. (Feilds') Inf. Regt., CSA, during the Civil War. Based on the uniform, it is an early war image, unusual for the 'C' on his cap. Calvert, a Nashville photographer, reproduced this image as a glass negative. Cheatham's cheeks are hand-tinted.
