    This leaflet reprints an address given by Roy J. Kinnear to the Associated Industries of Seattle on June 6, 1924. He describes the origins of the Associated Industries in response to Labor Unions dominated by "the radical, the un-American, the charlatan", and the development of "the Open Shop, or American Plan of Employment". Kinnear describes the aims of the organization -- fair treatment of employees and progress for the city of Seattle -- and their willingness to cooperate with Labor. Although the Associated Industries have been heavily criticized by the labor movement, they have refrained from publicizing any remarks in defense of themselves because it would be "detrimental to Seattle". He hopes that the press will join his organization in avoiding "undue publicity" for the city, keeping the disputes between employers and employees quiet so that they can be settled privately.
