Captain Cook Hotel, Anchorage, ca. 1965-1972

The Captain Cook Hotel opened in 1965, a year after the Great Alaskan Earthquake. The hotel was built by Walter J. Hickel, a businessman who would later become governor of Alaska. The hotel was nine stories tall and located on 4th Ave. A second tower was added to the hotel in 1972 and a third tower in 1978.
