  • Ann S. Conner was one of a second group of Mercer Girls brought to Seattle in 1866. In this trip diary, she tells of life on the steamer which took her from New York and around the southern point of South America. At the end of the diary, she includes a note to a friend, to whom she has decided to mail the diary. Ann writes of life among the varied passengers on the ship, including Asa Mercer, and of several stops in Chile.
