Endangered species, 1990, 801 Ocean Front Walk (at Park Avenue), center. The top middle portrays the air, the ocean, the beach, oil wells that used to be there, the Pavilion that was torn down during the mural process, the Venice canals that were being threatened to be filled in and some of the birds migrated through the canals. An old man and an old woman representing the elderly, a family representing the families that could no longer afford to live in Venice. The bottom middle portrays a man representing technocrats that were moving into cute, quaint, artsy Venice, sitting on an endangered Ocean Front Walk bench watching TV instead of the sunset, throwing his trash all around. A couple are sunbathing and reading magazines. The black woman in the foreground represents mother earth, for women have suffered most from our greedy society--- interpretation by artist Emily Winters fax dated November 12, 2011.
