Description on Verso: "The Facade of Atlanta Police Precinct (zone 5) on Auburn Ave. In 1927, Alonzo Herndon built a brick gas station straddling the corner of Auburn Avenue and Bell Street. It became Pal's Cleaners in 1955. Now painted a pleasant teal and cream, it has been reincarnated as the Auburn Avenue Police Precinct. The Atlanta Economical Development Corporation's Margaret McClure descruved the project as a community effort involving the AEDC, the city of Atlanta and the private sector. Most of the materials and labor were donated (Assicuated Builders & Contractors took the project gratis) and the AEDC solicited contributions from local businesses, which helped cover the $58,000 in costs.
