Williamsburg, Mass. Bicentennial Commemorative Quilt

As part of the 1971 townwide observance of the 200th anniversary of Williamsburg's founding, 37 local women created the 42 squares of this commemorative quilt. Each square depicts a theme, event or place that is familiar to people acquainted with the town and its history. The quilt is worked in a large variety of patterned and solid-colored fabrics.
Part of the Williamsburg, Mass., Historical Society, Historic Textiles Collection, and is currently (2011) on long-term loan for display in the Meekins Library.
