The LM conceals terrain near latitude 1 degree south, longitude 70 degrees east, in this view westward across heavily cratered highlands between Smyth's Sea and the Sea of Fertility. High Sun illumination enhances the albedo difference. At the horizon smooth mare deposits in the northeastern Sea of Fertility are broken by ridges and craters northwest of the Crater Langrenus. Image was taken during Revolution 53 of the Apollo 16 mission. Original film magazine was labeled QQ,filmtype was SO-368 (Color Exterior),80mm lens with a sun elevation of 73 degrees. Approximate Altitude was 112 km. Principal Point Latitude was .2N by Longitude 69.8E,with a camera tilt of 45 degrees and an azimuth of 245 degrees. Subject Terms: Apollo 16 Flight, Moon (Planet) Categories: Lunar Observations Original: Film - 70MM CT Interior_Exterior: Exterior Ground_Orbit: On-orbit. less
