  • Dorothy Peterson, shown on the left, worked for Western Union Telegraph Company in Seattle for 32 years, beginning in 1918. In 1930, she was named Seattle's "most popular business girl," winning 303,000 votes in a contect sponsored by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Paramount Theater and Northern Pacific Railroad. The women may be enjoying a train ride as part of this honor.
