- Goetze, O.D. (Otto Daniel)
Starting in 1898, the steamship "Oregon" made regular trips from Seattle to Alaskan ports. On its first voyage, in 1898, the vessel carried 409 passengers, 20 horses, 50 dogs, and 1,250 tons of supplies. This 1900 photo shows the "Oregon" at a Seattle pier. People are crowding the dock to watch as the ship and its passengers leave for Nome.
