An account of expenses by Edward Hitchcock incurred during a portion of his geological survey of Massachusetts between April and June 1831, and owed to him by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Expenses listed include supplies, postage, and personal expenses for Hitchcock and his assistant, among others. Hitchcock has noted at the bottom of the sheet that he received the payment for the total amount on June 9, 1831.
