The Kool Pro Balloon Tour races took place during the annual Atlanta Free Jazz Festival held in Piedmont Park located in Atlanta, Georgia. The free festival was sponsored by the City of Atlanta, National Endowment for the Arts, and corporate partners, including the Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. Brown & Williamson sponsored the Kool Pro Balloon Tour, a national series of hot air balloon races, to promote their Kool brand of cigarettes. The tour's finals were held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
