  • Description
  • During the years the United States was neutral during World War I (1914-1916), American citizens were free to back either Entente or Central Powers. For many immigrants that meant supporting the homeland. Citizens supported their homelands through the press and also by raising money for noncombatants. When the United States entered the war in 1917, all of these immigrants or new citizens quickly backed their new adopted country.
