  • Description
  • The Chilkoot Trail is a 33 mile long hiking trail running through Alaska and British Columbia. The trail was established by Tlingit people as a trade route to the interior of Canada. It later became a popular route to reach the Klondike region during the gold rush in the late nineteenth century. The trail begins near the Dyea townsite at the Taiya River bridge and goes over the Chilkoot Pass to Lake Bennett in British Columbia.
