A handwritten letter from William Bainbridge to Adjutant General of Massachusetts John Brooks, dated June 13, 1814. Bainbridge is concerned with the defense of the Charlestown Navy Yard and hopes the general will order militia units to duty. He also includes signals to be given in the Navy Yard in case of a British attack.
