When the advance towards Gum Swamp was ordered, Blodget was sick and unable to go with the company. May 28th 1863 he re-enlisted at Newbern for three years in the Heavy Artillery, was furloughed for 30 days form that date, and visited Chicopee. Soldier's Record, Town of Chicopee. less
