Band at Port Blakely, ca. 1900
Brass bands were very popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Many towns and villages had at least one band which played on holidays and special occasions. In this photo, the twelve men in the Port Blakely brass band pose for a group shot with their instruments. The photo was probably taken sometime around 1900.
