  • Description
  • Seattle's 1913 Golden Potlatch, the distant ancestor of the Seafair festival, opened on July 16. For the next several days, Seattle residents and visitors were treated to parades, an air show, a battleship searchlight drill, a wild west show and numerous other events. This 1913 Potlatch festival photo shows a seaplane, with the name Christofferson painted on the pontoon, flying low above Lake Washington as spectators look on from their boats.
