  • It is officially recorded that King Naresuan had the Golden Pagoda built as a monument of victory over the war against Burma. However, according to stories told by Ayutthaya people, the pagoda was built by King Burengnong of Burma when his army won over the Ayutthaya troop. In this article, the author offers explanation for the historical contradiction.
