One of the interesting highlights of the Second National Indian Congress was the Indian Baby Clinic and Contest held under the auspices of the Spokane Child Health Association, David Friedlander, 7 month old Coeur d'Alene Indian baby was awarded the $10.00 prize for the most perfect type of Indian baby at the clinic, in comparison with the weekly clinic the Child Health Association holds the Indian babies scored much higher on the average than the Whites. less
