Composer Ernest Ball, October 1916
Ernest Ball composed many popular American songs in the early part of the 20th century. Among these were "Mother Machree," "Till the Sands of the Desert Grow Cold," "Love Me and the World Is Mine," and "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling." He played at the Alhambra Theater the week of Oct. 15, 1916. In performance, he played many of his own compositions on the piano.Autograph on photo.PH Coll 569.23.
