  • Description
  • This is a transcript of a letter Henry L. Yesler, mayor of Seattle, wrote to Washington Territory Governor Watson C. Squire to state his opinion that the city no longer needs to be under martial law. He agrees with Squire's decision to declare martial law and to keep it in effect until the present time, but notes that now there is much less danger for disturbance due to anti-Chinese sentiment.
