The original finding aid described this as: Description: Extravehicular Activity (EVA) 1 on Flight Day 4 to service the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) on this second servicing mission (HST SM-02). Mission Specialist Steve Smith with a big grin on his face translates up over the external airlock and looks in the aft crew compartment windows (013-17). Back of Smith's Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) backpack as he works at the Remote Manipulator System (RMS) Manipulator Foot Restraint (MFR) stanchion (018). Smith and Payload Commander Mark Lee (identified by solid red stripes) work at the +V2 Aft Shroud to changeout the Goddard High Resolution Spectrometer (GHRS) for the new Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS). Smith stands on the MFR while Lee looks inside the open doors (019-36). Dark silhouette views (028-32). Smith holds GHRS which he just removed from the telescope (034-36).
