Between 1891 and 1913, the number of students attending increased by 182, the tuition increased by $16,320, the budget increased by $39,750, the endowment increased from nothing to $119,854, and the net property increased by $403,518. A lantern slide like this may have been used to recruit board members, encourage donations, or otherwise demonstrate Springfield College's fiscal soundness.
