Caption: "Extremely wide eaves balance an overhanging veranda on this Lincoln Park West residence. It was built in 1872-73 for Chicago brewer Frederick Wacker. At one side stands a gate (shown on the front cover) originally built for Mecca House, home of important Oriental visitors to the Columbian Exposition of 1893.
