Hazard, the editor for the Mountaineer Bulletin, writes to Shumway about his advertisement in the newsletter along with recommendations for skiing near Snoqualmie Pass and Mount Rainier--particularly at the Meany Ski Hut and Irish Cabin. Referring to the Meany Ski Hut, Hazard writes "This is of course the best skiing to be had at 5,500 feet elevation. The Mountaineers made a very beautiful film of a party of 21 skiers on May 21, 1932. Many of our members ski here as late as July but if course go up several hundred more feet to get good snow." In addition to describing the skiing locations, Hazard provides Shumway with information about the best skiing outfitters in Seattle including Frederick and Nelson, The Outdoor Store, and the Bon Marche. less
