  • John Franklin Miller was the Mayor of Seattle for one term before serving as a member of Congress from 1917 to 1931. He worked to rid Seattle of prostitution and vices while acting as Mayor. He favored prohibition, though was voted out of Congress as the popularity of prohibition steadily declined in the early 1930s.
