  • Caption beneath photo: Seattle in 1885-86. The waterfront extends from Madison to Columbia Street. The big building in the center is Frye's Opera House. The Methodist Protestant Church is shown north of Frye's; the McNaught and Stacy dwellings to the east, also Stetson & Post. The fire of June 6, 1889 began in house on extreme left belonging to Mrs. Margaret Pontius.Prosch Seattle Views Album, Vol. 2, page 36.
