Crazy quilt (c.1920)

Quilt, 69 x 70 inches, containing patches of cotton, wool, felt, and upholstery remnants. This type of quilt was popular in the late 19th century. Scraps of any shape or size are sewn onto a backing and embroidery stitches (mainly herringbone and feather stitch) were used to decorate the edges of the pieces. This quilt was made in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Patchwork Quilts 6-10 Mathematics
