  • Burton is a community on Vashon Island at the north end of Quartermaster Harbor in southwest King County. A scattered community, it was established in 1892 as the site of Vashon College. It was named when the town was founded by Mrs. M. F. Hatch, for her birthplace in England, Burton-In-Kendall.
