Conducted as a reading room, and adjacent to the adult reference room, on the fourth floor, administered by a special staff, and equipped with a carefully chosen collection of books, this room is planned to meet the demands and the desires of the juvenile patrons of the main Library; to offer aid and counsel in the preparation of school work, essays, and debates; to direct and attract their tastes toward wholesome and sane channels; and perhaps incidentally, to provide a pleasant and inviting retreat for the scant leisure of the great army of juvenile bread-winners employed within the radius of a mile from the Library. less
