Armorial Ownership 62x94 mm [motto:] / John Beames / B.C.S. Coat of arms. Escutcheon: quarterly, 1st and 4th, parted per pale, gules (red) and azure (blue), 6 garbs or (gold) over all, three mullets (stars) sable (black) on a chief argent (silver); 2nd and 3rd, parted per chevron, vert (green) and argent, charged with three eagles displayed, a sun in splendor in center. Crest: three mullets argent on a tree vert issuing from a stump or palisade, suns' rays or. Motto: Bene vivere bis vivere (To live well is to live twice) B.C.S. = Bengal Civil Service. Beames served in the British administration in India.
