How do I register and how much does it cost?

Register online by visiting the DPLAfest Registration page. Registration costs $150.00 per person. After registering, attendees will receive additional information in early April from a team member concerning logistics. For questions regarding registration, please email info@dp.la.

What is included in cost of registration?

Access to over 45 sessions on topics ranging from digitization and analytics to engagement and social justice; lunch on Thursday and Friday; and the reception on Thursday; and countless opportunities to engage with colleagues from across the DPLA community.

Who can attend the Reception?

Everyone is welcome to attend the reception on Thursday evening in the Harold Washington Library Center’s Winter Gardens. Attendance is included in the price of registration.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

If for some reason you need to cancel your registration for DPLAfest 2017 please contact us at info@dp.la. Refunds less a $15.00 cancellation fee will be given to all those who submit a cancellation in writing by March 29, 2017. After this date, no refunds will be provided.

Can I purchase tickets when I get to DPLAfest?

No, there will not be any on-site registration. Please ensure you have registered before traveling to Chicago as there will not be tickets available for those who have not registered in advance.

What about accessibility?

All session spaces are accessible to those attending the fest. Space for making specific requests or accommodations is available on the registration form. All requests are kept private and confidential. Participants requiring any accommodations may also contact DPLAfest organizers directly at info@dp.la.

I’m running late, can someone pick up my name tag for me?

No, each attendee must pick up their own name tag and registration information on Thursday and check themselves in on Friday. However, the registration table in the main lobby will be open throughout the fest for people who are arriving late or only attending for a partial day.

Can I see what sessions will be presented before I arrive?

Absolutely! The complete schedule will is available on the DPLAfest Agenda page, and includes session descriptions and room details.

What is the dress code for DPLAfest?

DPLAfest, like most conferences, involves a lot of walking and sitting, so dress comfortably and wear shoes that are good for moving around. The sessions are spread throughout the Harold Washington Library Center. Be sure to check the weather for the Windy City before packing so you will know what to expect of the climate when you’re out and about.

I require special assistance or have dietary restrictions, whom do I contact?

There is a section on the online registration forms where you can list any special needs. You may also email us at info@dp.la , indicating any dietary restrictions or need for special assistance if you did not note them on the form.

I’m going straight to the airport from the fest on Friday, can I bring my luggage?

No, please store your luggage at your hotel. Space in session rooms is limited and we will not have a separate location to store luggage during the conference.


I’m a Presenter…

…is there anything I need to know about my session room?

In your follow up presentation confirmation email you will have received information regarding your specific date, time, and location along with any special notes about your assigned room.

…will my registration be waived?

No, all presenters are required to pay the full registration fee.

… and I have handouts and/or want to share my slides.

Great, bring enough to share with the group. DPLA will not print or provide any additional materials for your session. If you would like to share your session materials and slides with attendees, send them to info@dp.la by April 27, 2017 and they will be made available online.
