We’re extremely excited to announce that Mark Breedlove has joined the DPLA team as Technical Specialist, a key piece of our growing in-house technical team. Mark brings years of development experience to his role at DPLA, where he will design, develop, test, integrate, support, and document the systems behind the DPLA’s application programming interface (API) and datastores, in addition to the public-facing website.
Mark will also be responsible for the software that moves data from the DPLA’s providers to its users, by way of its open API and web front-end, and he will work closely with the Director of Technology Mark A. Matienzo and the Content team, comprised of Director and Assistant Director for Content, Emily Gore and Amy Rudersdorf.
“We could not be more thrilled to have Mark on board as Technical Specialist,” said Executive Director Dan Cohen. “His deep background in system design and web application development makes him a fabulous addition to the DPLA team.”
Before coming to the DPLA, Mark served as the Technical Director at See.me, a social discovery website for artists, and the American Museum of Natural History, building scientific web applications and content management systems for its Science Division.
