Enjoyment and Respect Through Education

Naturalists, such as South Carolina’s Rudy Mancke, use parks and their resources in public programs that guide people toward an appreciation for nature and wildlife, Congaree National Park, South Carolina.

Park rangers perform a variety of duties, and one of those is educating the public about our natural world. Expert volunteers who have spent their life studying wildlife and working for its protection are also contributors to the education of the public. They provide visitors with the knowledge and tools they need to appropriately interact with plants and animals, so that they may continue to enjoy the outdoors and come back for more.
