This Land Is Your Land: Parks and Public Spaces

In order to conserve our natural resources through management and education, the parks have established a physical presence. Visitor centers, parking lots, ranger stations, and restrooms will do more good in protecting the parks than the small footprint of their construction will do in harming them.  The visitor centers supply the knowledge necessary to respectfully enjoy the natural wonders around us, and the ranger stations act as the front line of defense for the parks. From the early works of the Civilian Conservation Corps to recent help from park volunteers come the tools needed to implement the National Park Service and individual States’ Parks’ mandates.
