TED WILLIAMS CROSSES THE PLATE AT FENWAY, 1939. Leslie Jones Collection, BPL Print Department.

Ted Williams holds the title for the longest home run in Fenway Park at 502 feet, commemorated by a single red seat in the stands.

Fenway Park has long been home to some of the greatest players of baseball lore.

While only eight uniform numbers have been formally retired by the Red Sox, the ballpark has served as the playground for scores of the sport's most famous figures during the past century.
