REMARKABLE CROWD AT BRAVES' NEW FIELD IN ALLSTON, 1915. Leslie Jones Collection, BPL Print Department.

Braves Field welcomed over 46,000 fans for Opening Day on August 18, 1915.

Opened in 1915, Braves Field was designed by the same firm that had built Fenway Park three years earlier. Constructed on the site of a former golf course in Allston, Massachusetts, the stadium was the largest baseball park built at that time, with a capacity of more than 46,000 fans.
