INFIELD AT BRAVES FIELD, 1930. Leslie Jones Collection, BPL Print Department.

The stands were the largest ever constructed at the time and designed so that every seat would have a good view of the play on the field.

Opened in 1915, Braves Field was designed by the same firm that had built Fenway Park three years earlier. Constructed on the site of a former golf course in Allston, Massachusetts, the stadium was the largest baseball park built at that time, with a capacity of more than 46,000 fans.
