Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) is pleased to announce that more than 85,000 titles from Penguin Random House (PRH) and PRH distribution partners are now available in Palace Marketplace (formerly DPLA Exchange), the only not-for-profit library e-content marketplace. Palace Marketplace now offers more than 1 million ebooks and audiobooks from more than 1,000 publishers, including titles from all of the “Big 5” publishers, Amazon Publishing, and hundreds of mid-sized and independent publishers.

“The addition of Penguin Random House titles represents an important step forward for Palace Marketplace and DPLA’s mission to expand equitable access,” said Micah May, DPLA’s Director of Ebook Services. “The Marketplace is now truly a one-stop shop for libraries who need access to a wide variety of content as well as flexible licensing options that help them maximize their budgets.”

Library patrons can access Palace Marketplace titles through the Palace app, a free patron-facing ereading app available for iOS and Android. Palace Marketplace and the Palace app are part of The Palace Project, a new not-for-profit e-content platform for libraries that launched in June 2021. Funded by a $5 million investment from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, The Palace Project is a division of LYRASIS working in strategic partnership with DPLA.

Palace Marketplace titles are also available through the SimplyE app, the open-source, free e-reader app developed by the New York Public Library.
