This plots future iterative releases and records prior releases.

Week3 Release

January 27, 2012

Data

  1. Pathetic dummy library item data
    1. 100K records, divided into 3 source collections
    2. Dummy fields, except for:
      1. Lib Congress Subject Headings
      2. Format
      3. Language
      4. Pub year
      5. Data type (item or collection)
  2. 50,000 Biodiversity Heritage Library records
  3. 28,000 records from Bancroft Library at Berkeley

Why dummy records? Because we want to avoid any and all discussion of the provenance of the information.

Functionality

  1. RestfulAPI
    1. Query against all data fields
    2. Returns JSON
  2. Item data model
    1. Simplified, Dublin-Core-ish
  3. Collections metadata provisionally absorbed into item data structure
    1. Marked as collections

Week4 Release

January 25, 2012

Data

  1. Still using pathetic dummy data
  2. Add dummy circulation data
  3. Add Smithsonian Portrait Gallery or Biodiversity Heritage metadata
  4. Add Web content metadata
    1. TED Talks
    2. A few YouTube channels
  5. Add MongoDB to capture full schema of collections (as well as "DC-ish" version)

  1. Extend API to new datasets/models
  2. Extend API for circ data
    1. Extend event data model
