Week ending March 31, 2012

  • Technical overview finalized and posted (http://goo.gl/3BJac; the link has been sent to the DPLA tech dev public listserv and will be circulated more broadly, along with a PDF, next week)
  • Substantial revision to the core schema
  • Wiki overview updated in light of the technical overview
  • Tools and info for hackathoners posted at GitHub
  • Code samples written and posted to GitHub
  • Met with Countway, resulting in joint LibLab proposal for semantic enhancement, as well as several projects we will collaborate on
  • Progress on Shelv.me app, which runs on top of DPLA, as well as Amazon, IMDB, and others
  • Very helpful conversation with DigitalNZ tech team leaders
  • Discussion with US State Department about possibly getting metadata about the collection of historic items in their Diplomatic Reception rooms
  • Discussion with possible Summer of Coder to work on Web harvester/parser
